Cosy, extensively renovated 17th-century village pub overlooking the Great Glemham Estate and within easy reach of the Suffolk Heritage Coast. The interior is beautifully kept, with sofas on rush matting in the big entrance hall, and an open-plan beamed lounge has wooden pews and captain's chairs around stripped and waxed kitchen tables, local photographs and paintings on cream walls, fresh flowers, and some brass ornaments; log fires in two big fireplaces.

Fish dishes include salmon marinated in lime and coriander, and fresh cod or haddock cooked in beer batter. Other options are sandwiches, soup, baked potatoes, ham egg and chips, ploughman's and daily specials such as whitebait, butterfly prawns with lemon mayonnaise, mushroom and spinach lasagne, beef rissoles, steak and kidney pie, salmon steak with lime and chives, sirloin steak; children’s menu.

Dogs and wellies are welcome at this attractive pub which is set in the heart of the village. Well kept Greene King IPA and Old Speckled Hen are served from old brass handpumps,

Dominoes and cribbage. A tidy, flower-fringed lawn, raised above the corner of the quiet village lane by a retaining wall, has some seats and tables under cocktail parasols; disabled access.
